With 2010 marking the 175th Anniversary of the Great Western Railway, the West Somerset Railway took a rather unusual stance, with a gala themed “the Standard Era”, celebrating the introduction of the Standard Class Steam Locomotives. Introduced in 1951, these new generations of locomotives were in put into service on the Western Region of British Railways in until the end of Steam in that area in 1965.
The DVD features full coverage from both Saturdays & both Sundays of the event. Highlights Include: Several Trains being banked out of Bishops Lydeard, wonderful evocative soundtracks, and much much more.
