Our very first widescreen production in the Mainline Diary Series, contains a number of notable highlights from the Northern Fells to the South Devon Banks, as well as Wales and Scotland at its glorious best.

The return of Winter Steam to Cumbria is one of the many highlights along the way as we see an old favourite bow out of mainline running, as well as see others locomotives setting the standard in performance with a definate 'WOW factor'.  With plenty of variety and action, this DVD will give you endless pleasure and enjoyment for many years to come!

Full coverage of the highly successful Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express trains on Shap and the Settle & Carlisle featuring, Black 5s 44871 & 45407, 44932 & 45305 and 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' with some wonderful deep winter scenes as we experience the best and worst conditions of the northern fells.

6024 'King Edward I' on its final Mainline runs before withdrawal for overhaul, including the 'Help for Heroes' special to Cardiff, last run into Paddington Station, and it's final run to Kingswear. (Feb 12th, March 1st, March 3rd, March 17th).

5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' on the highly anticipated solo run over the Devon Banks (including a dramatic and exciting 70mph pacing sequence never before seen) (April 28th). We also see the engine battling against horrendous weather conditions on Sapperton Bank with 12 coaches (April 29th), and the first Castle to cross the border into Scotland, including a stunning shot crossing the Forth Bridge. (May 26th, 27th & 28th).

6201 'Princess Elizabeth' working over the Lickey Incline, being banked by Pannier Tanks 9600 & 7752 (L94). (March 24th).

70000 'Britannia' (back in BR Green) working over Upton Scudamore. (April 12th) the WCML south of Crewe with a full rake of BR Mark I coaches, (April 14th) and the Torbay Express (July 1st).

70013 'Oliver Cromwell' working solo over the Welsh Marches, the Devon Banks and into Cornwall (the latter also features a double-headed run with 34067 'Tangmere'). (5th May).

35028 'Clan Line' returning to Honiton Bank for the first time in 11 years, plus also seen slogging up Milborne Port Bank. (May 3rd).

Black 5s 44871 and 45407 working north over the Heart of Wales Line, including some wonderfully scenic views. (May 12th).

46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' (now running BR Green) seen working over Shap in both directions on (May 26th and June 9th).

71000 'Duke of Gloucester' on Sapperton Bank with 13 coaches. (June 16th) and the Bath Spa Express, (June 20th).

60163 'Tornado' working south over the Welsh Marches. (May 12th).

The DVD features a brief commentary, on-screen locations and gradient subtitles.
