Join
us for this unique journey along a railway that was thought to be lost
to the history books forever. 2015 saw the opening of the new ‘Borders
Railway’ from Edinburgh to Tweedbank, along the northern section of the
old ‘Waverley’ Route, which once ran between the Scottish capital and
Carlisle. After controversially being closed in 1969, this remote
region of Scotland would once again echo to the sound of a Steam Engine
climbing the steep gradients, for the first time in 50 years.
This
program includes footage from on the footplate with the locomotives
crew, and with live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the
action right to you.
This program also features commentary (including driver's commentary), titles & locations.
